Short answer
Go to a Wells Fargo banking location with the POA and your photo ID. Wells Fargo accepts either its own Wells Fargo Power of Attorney form or a POA prepared and signed somewhere else. It reviews an outside POA to see whether it was properly signed under state law and whether you have authority for what you're asking.
Wells Fargo keeps a copy of the POA and sets up an agent profile. Until that's done, it won't act on your requests. It does not publish a turnaround time.

- Check the POA against our California POA checklist before you go.
- Decide which form you'll use. Wells Fargo's own POA form covers only the Wells Fargo accounts listed on it, and it's available at any banking location (not online).
- Visit a Wells Fargo banking location in person.
- Bring valid photo ID, such as an unexpired driver's license or state ID, military ID, or passport.
- Bring the POA. Wells Fargo will keep a copy and set up your agent profile.
- For a Wells Fargo personal loan only, there's a separate packet: a POA Submission Cover Sheet, a notarized Attorney-in-Fact Affidavit and a copy of the POA. Questions: 1-877-592-7298.
